Established in September 2014, Placeshakers is a social enterprise, based in Manchester, which is creatively facilitating change in the built environment. We work with a range of people and collaborators to develop sustainable approaches to creative place-making. Our projects are about making and we’re particularly passionate about animating unloved, underused or abandoned places, and through this process, creating a plan for them to be brought to life and loved once again.

• Curating and collaborating with other creative professionals on the development and delivery of making projects
• Take an idea and make it happen by working with a range of partners and managing the process from start to completion
• Consider sustainability every step of the way - creatively, socially, economically and environmentally
• Our approach to fundraising is also creative!

We work with a wide range of partners and collaborators including local authorities, community groups, artists and cultural organisations, funders, housing and economic development partners, academics and students.

Every commission is different, but our approach is always action-led.
